Amazon Plans Two More Shipping Hubs


Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) Monday said it plans to open a fulfillment center in Monroe, Ohio apart from its recently announced one in North Randall. The Monroe center will provide more than 1000 full time job opportunities.

The company already has fulfillment centers in Etna and Obetz. According to reports, the e-commerce giant is planning to start such centers in Troutdale, Salem, a sortation center in Hillsboro, and a Prime Now hub in Portland.

Sanjay Shah, Amazon's Vice President of North America Customer Fulfillment said, "The support of local leaders and incredible workforce has been instrumental in our decision to locate the new fulfillment center in the state, and we are grateful for the support we've received to bring new jobs and investment to Ohio."

There were also some reports that Amazon was planning to build a store house of one million square feet in Mexico city.
