Amazon has slashed the price of 4K movies and tv shows, probably to compete with launch offer of Apple TV 4K that plans to sell 4K content at the rate of HD content. The 4K version of its set-top box is expected to be in market next week.

According to reports, Amazon Video's 4K content currently tagged at $30 might be available from $5 to $19. Apple's 4K HDR movies will be sold for $19.99. Upgraded HD movies to 4K also will be available on iTunes for streaming. Compared to Amazon, Apple has more movies in 4K format in its catalog.

Earlier in the month, Amazon has stopped the sales of its Fire TV and it is expected to bring out two new devices in a few months.

Apple TV 4K is expected to be available in 32GB and 64GB versions with pricing of $179 and $199 respectively. It will have A10X fusion chip for faster performance, especially for games and apps. With this product, video play is expected to be in stunning detail with true to life picture quality. One can enjoy content from iTunes, and apps like Netflix, Hulu and EPSN. Siri remote will help find the content.
