Hungary Trade Surplus Shrinks More Than Estimated

Hungary's foreign trade surplus decreased more than initially estimated in July, latest figures from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office showed Monday.

The trade surplus for July was revised down to EUR 303 million from EUR 322 million reported earlier.

In the corresponding month last year, the surplus was EUR 682 million.

The value of exports climbed 5.0 percent year-over-year in July, slightly slower than the 5.2 percent rise seen in the flash data.

Imports surged 11.0 percent in July from a year ago, in line with the flash data published on September 9.
