COLOMBIA: Coffee Production Grows 19% In September - Fedecafeteros

(Agencia CMA Latam) - Coffee production in Colombia surged 19% in September on an annual basis, reaching around 73,680 tonnes, reported the National Federation of Coffee Growers, known as Fedecafeteros.

Last month, Colombia coffee harvest hit 1.228 million 60-kg sacks, from 1.034 million sacks a year before. Year-to-date, the harvest was around 10.3 million sacks, or 618,000 tonnes 4% higher than the 9.9 million sacks produced in the same period in 2016.

In the last 12 months, which also coincides with the coffee year (October 2016-September 2017) in Colombia, the harvest exceeded 14.6 million sacks, 4% higher than in the previous coffee year.
