Chris Young has made his return to the stage following the mass shooting in Las Vegas. Young was one of the many country performers pinned down at the music festival in Las Vegas in which a single gunman killed 58 people and wounded over 400 more.

He hit the stage in Fresno, California and dedicated the set to those killed and injured in Las Vegas. He kicked off the set with a cover of Vince Gill's 1994 classic "Go Rest High on That Mountain," noting:

"I was in Vegas the other night. I heard this song a lot, I've never attempted to sing it because I have a huge amount of respect for the guy who did it originally," Young said on stage. "But I'm going to give it my best. Music can heal."

He added in a social media interview:

"I hugged my family and talked about what I was going to do this week as far as this show that I am going to play tonight. I'm a musician and music can heal so I'm hoping this is a night of trying to do that for a lot of people that are here."
