Tom Petty's Greatest Hits Jumps Back Onto Billboard Chart

Tom Petty's classic Greatest Hits release has reentered the Billboard 200 chart at number 2 this week following the rock icon's passing earlier this month. The album moved 84,000 units in the week following Petty's death, marking a 2,231 percent increase in sales.

Reps for the legend confirmed on October 2 that he had been taken off life support after being found unconscious in his home the previous day:

"On behalf of the Tom Petty family we are devastated to announce the untimely death of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty," Petty's manager said in a statement. "He died peacefully surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends."
