Weinstein's Wife Leaves Him As Sex Scandal Escalates

Embattled Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein suffered more damages over the sex scandal Tuesday as his wife Georgina Chapman left him amid fresh allegations of sexual misconduct surfacing against him.

In a story published by The New Yorker, three women accused Harvey Weinstein of raping them, while fresh misconduct allegations emerged from Hollywood A-listers such as Angelina Jolie, Rosanna Arquette, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Paltrow and Jolie sent statements about incidents happened early in their careers to the New York Times, which first reported allegations against him last week.

Jolie said she had a bad experience with the media mogul in her youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and to warn others when they did.

Paltrow said she was "terrified" when Weinstein made advances on her in a hotel suite after he cast her in the leading role in Emma.

The New Yorker narrates harrowing experiences quoting Lucia Evans, an aspiring actress, Asia Argento, an Italian film actress and director, and an anonymous woman. They went on the record to allege Weinstein forced himself on them sexually.

16 former and current employees at Weinstein's companies have witnessed or had knowledge of unwanted sexual advances and touching at events associated with Weinstein's films and in the workplace, the magazine reported, based on interviews with them.

Responding to the article, Weinstein's spokeswoman Sallie Hofmeister said, "With respect to any women who have made allegations on the record, Mr Weinstein believes that all of these relationships were consensual," and that her boss denies all other allegations.

Weinsten's wife Georgina Chapman said she is heartbroken for the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of the unforgivable actions of her husband, and has decided to leave him.

"Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time," the 41-year-old English actor-designer said in a statement to People magazine.

Weinsten, 65, has five children in two marriages, and two of them were born to Chapman.
