COLOMBIA: This Is A Serious And Responsible Country To Invest, Santos Says

(Agencia CMA Latam) - Colombia's President Juan Manuel Santos praised the investment environment in his country and said that the South American nation is serious, responsible in economic matters, and respectful of the rule of law.

Still according to him, the peace agreement between the government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) will allow more than half of the country's territory to begin to produce.

In prepared remarks for the installation of an investment seminar, Santos mentioned foreign investment figures and progress achieved in the social and economic field during his 7-year administration.

Santos also quoted a recent report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to say that "the increase in infrastructure spending, the tax reform conducive to investment and the stimulus that the peace agreement are all factors that must increase growth to about 3.5% in the medium term."
