RBA Minutes On Tap For Tuesday

The Reserve Bank of Australia will on Tuesday release the minutes from its monetary policy meeting on October 3, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

At the meeting, the bank kept its benchmark lending rate unchanged at the record low 1.50 percent, as expected.

Australia also will see September results for new motor vehicle sales; in August, sales were flat on month and up 1.7 percent on year.

Malaysia will see August figures for unemployment; in July, the jobless rate was 3.5 percent and the participation rate was 67.7 percent.

Singapore will provide September numbers for imports, exports and trade balance. In August, imports were worth SGD 38.87 billion and exports were at SGD 44.51 billion for a trade surplus of SGD 5.64 percent.
