Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce Reports 19% Gain In Q4 Bottom Line

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CM.TO) reported earnings for its fourth quarter that increased from last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to C$1.23 billion, or C$2.81 per share. This was higher than C$1.03 billion, or C$2.60 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn C$2.03 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 16.0% to C$4.27 billion. This was up from C$3.68 billion last year.
