National Bank of Canada Announces 15% Rise In Q4 Profit

National Bank of Canada (NA.TO) reported a profit for its fourth quarter that rose from last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to C$531 million, or C$1.40 per share. This was higher than C$463 million, or C$1.24 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn C$1.38 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 8.3% to C$1.70 billion. This was up from C$1.57 billion last year.
