Exxon Mobil To Combine Its Refining And Marketing Operations

Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) announced that it will combine its refining and marketing operations, ExxonMobil Refining and Supply Co. and ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Co., into a single company, ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants Company, in the first quarter of 2018.

ExxonMobil also announced the appointment of Bryan Milton, currently president of ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Company, to the position of president of the combined division, effective Jan. 1, 2018.

ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants Co., along with ExxonMobil affiliates, will manage crude purchasing and logistics, refining, supply, trading, midstream, marketing and sales of refined products.

In a separate press release, ExxonMobil announced that its board has elected Neil Chapman to the position of senior vice president and member of the corporation's management committee. As successor to Chapman, the board also appointed John Verity as president of ExxonMobil Chemical Co.

XOM closed Friday's trading session at $83.46.

Conagra Brands, Inc. (CAG) reported that its third-quarter adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations grew 27.1% to $0.61 from $0.48, prior year. On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.56 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Aided by a lower effective tax rate, earnings per share from continuing operations grew 112.2% to $0.87 from $0.41, a year ago. Following a disastrous week of public-relations fiascoes involving transportation of pets, United Airlines said Tuesday it is suspending its Petsafe program with immediate effect. PetSafe is United Airlines' specially designed program for transporting animals that are not eligible to travel in the aircraft cabin. The program offers airport-to-airport travel for animals to nearly 300 destinations.
