Earnings In Focus Today: ASNA, BOBE, PLAY

Ascena Retail Group Inc. (ASNA) is expected to report Q1 earnings today after the bell. Analysts are modeling earnings of $0.11 per share on revenues of 1.59 billion. In the year-ago period, the company reported earnings of $0.07 per share on revenues of $1.678 billion. In a press release in August the company had guided Q1 earnings to be in the range of $0.08 to $0.13 on revenues range of $1.58 to $1.62 billion. ASNA current price levels are about 70% off its 52-week high.

Bob Evans Farms Inc. (BOBE) is expected to report Q2 earnings today before the bell. Analysts are modeling earnings of $0.35 on revenues of $117.85 million. In the year-ago period, the company reported earnings of $0.56 on revenues of $315.96 million. In September, Bob Evans Farms agreed to be acquired by Post Holdings Inc. (POST) in a deal valued at about $1.5 billion or $77-per-share. The deal is expected to close in the first calendar quarter of 2018, which is Post's Q2-18. The Bob Evans Farms business is expected to be immediately accretive to Post's top-line growth, Adjusted EBITDA margins and free cash flow.

Dave & Buster's Entertainment Inc. (PLAY) is expected to report Q3 earnings today after the bell. Analysts are modeling earnings of $0.24 on revenues of $255.75 million. In the year-ago period, the company reported earnings of $0.25 on revenues of $228.66 million. The company is likely to surprise investors on the EPS front.
