UniFirst Corp Reveals 21% Rise In Q1 Profit

UniFirst Corp (UNF) revealed a profit for its first quarter that rose from last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $34.21 million, or $1.67 per share. This was higher than $28.21 million, or $1.38 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.41 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 7.7% to $415.78 million. This was up from $386.11 million last year.
