CES 2018: Techies Sure Do Love Tinder

A shocking number of people will be mixing business with pleasure at the 2018 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Dating app Tinder has been a presence at CES for a few years now, whether you know it or not.

In fact, data from Vector Media showed that two years ago a whopping 61 percent of the 1,800 people it survey used Tinder while at the world's largest tech trade show.

Incredibly, that's more than the 56.9 percent who used Twitter that year.

Having learned its app was being used quite a bit in 2016, Tinder elected to have a booth at last year's CES.

Tinder used the help of a multi-user VR headset for its marketing gimmick. People peeked inside the multi-person headset and simply would be looking directly into other person's eyes.

"It seems like everyone is launching a VR headset nowadays. As a tech company, we felt inspired to create one of our own. But here's the thing: our mission has always been to get people together to have real experiences in the real world" the company said in a blog.

"We created our multi-user VR headset with the Tinder experience in mind. Real people having a real experience, and like the app, it only works with a double opt-in."
