Justin Timberlake Takes Heat For Prince Tribute At Super Bowl

Justin Timberlake has earned some criticism for his use of a projection of Prince to duet with the late star during his halftime performance at the Super Bowl over the weekend. The pop icon performed a cover of Prince's "I Would Die for U" with a projection of the Purple One and now many in the media say that the legend would never have agreed to it.

Jennifer Lustig of the New York Times Magazine hit Twitter linking to an article in which Prince specifically blasted the idea of dead artists "dueting" in a live context: "Here's the 1998 interview in which Prince said the prospect of digital duets with dead artists was 'the most demonic thing imaginable' and 'that'll never happen to me,'" she wrote.

Comedian Sindbad added: "Okay punkass justin Timberlake. You was cool till you pulled that Prince bullshit. You dissed Prince on a track of yours and you dissed him onstage when you lowered the mic stand onstage when prince won an award. Later for ya ass."
