Aurobindo Pharma, ONGC, Reliance Industries, HPCL, Ambuja Cement, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Indiabulls Housing Finance, SBI and Adani Ports fell 2-6 percent in the Nifty pack.

On the positive side, Maruti Suzuki India, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, ITC and HCL Technologies climbed 1-2 percent.
