BRAZIL: Economists Raise 12-month Inflation Forecast To 4.21%

(Agencia CMA Latam) - The median forecast for Brazil's consumer price inflation in the next 12 months increased for the seventh consecutive week, to 4.21%, from 4.12% last week, according to economists surveyed by the South American country's central bank.

For 2018, the economists cut their inflation forecast from 3.49% to 3.45%. For 2019, the forecast also decreased, from 4.03% to 4.00%.

The annual inflation rate in Brazil rose to 2.76% in April, from 2.68% in March, but is still below the bottom of the central bank's target, which ranges from 3% to 6%.
