South Korea PPI Inflation Accelerates In April

South Korea's producer price inflation accelerated in April after remaining stable in the previous month, preliminary data from Bank of Korea showed Monday.

Producer prices climbed 1.6 percent year-on-year in April, faster than March's 1.3 percent rise, which was revised down from a 1.4 percent increase reported earlier.

Price index for agricultural, forestry and marine products grew 4.7 percent annually in April and those of manufacturing products gained by 1.7 percent.

Meanwhile, prices for electric power, gas and water supply dropped 1.6 percent.

Month-on-month, producer prices edged up 0.1 percent from March, when it remained flat.
