Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty To Florida Assault

In a hearing held earlier this week, R&B star Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to charges of felony battery filed by a professional photographer last year.

The photographer, Bennie Vines was hired by a Tampa Club in Florida while the star was hosting an event there. Brown allegedly "sucker-punched" him in the face when he refused to stop taking his pictures even after being told to do so and the victim reportedly suffered from a split-lip, while Brown fled the scene before the cops could arrive.

Earlier this month, Brown was arrested for the alleged crime; soon after wrapping up his Heartbreak On A Full Moon tour stop at West Palm Beach, police officers handcuffed him and detained him in jail for one hour before he obtained bail by depositing $2,000.

However, on July 9, the star pleaded not guilty via his attorney and also requested the court to fix a date for a "disposition/pre-trial conference."
