Blockchain startup Zulu Republic has launched Lite.im which enables users to interact with the Litecoin (LTC) blockchain to send and receive funds from anywhere in the world where a mobile phone signal is available.

The user just has to send a simple message via encrypted messenger app Telegram for fund transfers. It will also support a simple SMS message to send and receive LTC later on.

Zug, Switzerland-based Zulu Republic's Lite.im brings Litecoin services to anyone with even the most basic mobile phone, regardless of whether or not they have access to the Internet.

Telegram is used as it has become widely used, accepted, trusted and most secure messenger within the cryptocurrency community. It also provides a perfect proof of concept environment for releasing this technology.

Using Telegram for fund transfers will give people the ability to manage their funds within an environment they are already regularly engaged with.

Telegram also makes transacting in Litecoin as simple as possible for users, with programmable bot commands that require a minimum of user interaction to function.

In mid-April, Zulu Republic had acquired the Litevault Litecoin web wallet, and announced their commitment to open borderless finance to the Litecoin ecosystem.

Litevault offers secure, easy, private access to Litecoin for anyone with an internet connection, without the need for any additional software and regardless of device.
