Lithuania HICP Inflation Eases For Third Month

Lithuania's inflation, based on the harmonized index to facilitate EU comparison, slowed for a third consecutive month in August, preliminary data from the statistical office showed Tuesday.

The harmonized index of consumer prices rose 1.8 percent year-on-year following 2.3 percent increase in July.

The rate was 0.3 percentage points lower than the inflation calculated on the consumer price index, the agency said.

The HICP inflation has been slowing after peaking at 2.9 percent in May.

Compared to the previous month, the HICP decreased 0.4 percent in August. A similar fall was witnessed in the CPI.
