Dolly Parton has announced plans to open her popular Pirates Voyage dinner and show in a second city - at her Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The Pirates show has been successfully running for nearly a decade on the southern coast of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.

The 21,000 square foot attraction, with full-sized ships in an indoor lagoon where pirates will battle it out while guests enjoy a four-course meal, will open in spring 2019.

"The show has been so successful in Myrtle Beach that we kept looking at Pigeon Forge and wondering why we didn't already have a Pirates show there," the 72 year-old country icon said in a statement. "We have the perfect location, in one of the hottest areas of Pigeon Forge, and the time is now for my pirates to stake claim to the Great Smoky Mountains," added the veteran singer.

"We're getting ready to set sail in The Great Smoky Mountains! My pirates are stakin' their claim on Pigeon Forge, so y'all come out and have a little fun with us in 2019," Parton said.
