France's Industrial Output Growth At 3-Month Low

France's industrial production grew at the slowest pace in three months in August, the statistical office Insee showed Wednesday.

Industrial production climbed 0.3 percent from July, the weakest since May when it remained flat. Production had increased 0.8 percent in July.

Meanwhile, monthly growth in manufacturing output improved marginally to 0.6 percent from 0.5 percent in July.

Production of transport equipment declined 2.4 percent and that of coke and refined petroleum decreased 0.9 percent. On the other hand, manufacture of machinery and equipment gained 1 percent.

At the same time, construction output recovered in August, which was up 0.2 percent. Output had declined 1.3 percent in July.

In three months to August, manufacturing output gained 1.1 percent and industrial production climbed 1 percent from the previous three months.
