Australia Retail Sales Rise 0.3% In October

The value of retail sales in Australia was up a seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent on month in October, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday - coming in at A$26.986 billion.

That was in line with expectations following the 0.2 percent increase in September.


The following industries rose in in October: food retailing (0.2 percent), other retailing (0.5 percent), cafes, restaurants and takeaway food services (0.2 percent), and clothing, footwear and personal accessory retailing (0.2 percent).

Household goods retailing (-0.1 percent) and department stores (-0.1 percent) were down.
