Delcath Systems Appoints Eamonn Hobbs CEO - Update

Monday, Delcath Systems, Inc. (DCTH), a medical device company, said it has appointed Eamonn Hobbs as president and chief executive officer, succeeding Richard Taney, who will continue to serve on the company's board.

According to the company, Eamonn Hobbs has served as a member of its Board of Directors since October 2008. Hobbs has more than 25 years of experience in the interventional radiology, interventional cardiology and gastroenterology medical device industries.

Delcath noted that from 1988 until earlier this year, Hobbs was president and chief executive officer of AngioDynamics, Inc. (ANGO). Hobbs was a co-founder of AngioDynamics and led the company's efforts in marketing, strategic planning, product development, and general management.

AngioDynamics was spun off from E-Z-EM, Inc., a healthcare company, where Hobbs was senior vice-president since 1988.

Prior to that, Hobbs was the director of marketing and product development at NAMIC, founder, president and chief executive officer of Hobbs Medical, Inc., and a product development engineer at Cook Incorporated, Delcath said.

Hobbs currently serves on the board of directors of the Society of Interventional Radiology Foundation and as vice chairman of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association.

DCTH is currently trading at $3.59, up $0.08 or 2.28% on a volume of 15 thousand shares.
