Blackboard Inc. (BBBB) reported third quarter EPS of $0.40 after the bell Tuesday, which topped the consensus estimate of $0.37. The company expects to report fourth quarter EPS of $0.40 to $0.46 and full year 2009 EPS of $1.34 to $1.41. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $0.41 and $1.33 respectively. Blackboard Inc. posted early gains Wednesday and climbed further late in the morning. Shares advanced further around mid-afternoon and closed higher by $3.47 at $41.35 on strong volume. The stock rose above over a one-month range and set a new high for the year.
