Alliant Energy COO Eliot Protsch To Retire - Update

Wednesday after the bell, Alliant Energy Corp. (LNT) announced that its Chief Operating Officer Eliot Protsch, will be retiring in January 2010, after more than 31 years with the company.

In early 2009 Protsch became the COO; prior to which he served as the company's Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

On closure of the merger that formed Alliant Energy company, Protsch was named President, Interstate Power and Light Company and Executive Vice President, Energy Delivery, Alliant Energy. Between 1985 and 1998, Protsch held various operational positions, including Senior Vice President of Customer Operations, Engineering and Sales.

After retirement, Protsch would establish the Wapsie Investment and Advisory, an investment and financial advisory firm specializing in energy technology investments and financial advisory services. Protsch also plans to continue his board service.

LNT closed Wednesday's regular trading session at $27.70, down $0.19 or 0.68%, on the NYSE. However, in the after hours, the stock rose $0.03 or 0.10% to trade at $27.7264.
