Gainers:

Allstate Corp. (ALL) is rising over 3 percent to $27.29 as its operating earnings per share were above Wall Street view. However, net income fell 55 percent and operating income declined 81.4 percent from the previous year.

Pharmasset, Inc. (VRUS) is up over 6 percent to $75.00 based on the news about initiation of a Phase 3 program with the hepatitis C virus nucleotide analog, PSI-7977. This pivotal program will evaluate a 12-week, all-oral, interferon-free regimen of PSI-7977 and ribavirin in patients with HCV, independent of viral genotype or their ability to take interferon therapy.

Decliners:

Pfizer Inc. (PFE) is down 0.42 percent to $19.18. The company's third quarter profit surged from the year-ago quarter. Adjusted profit rose 11 percent. The company said it is narrowing the range of many of its 2011 financial guidance components and reaffirming 2012 financial targets.

Credit Suisse Group (CS) is falling 10 percent to $26.10. The company's third quarter profit improved from the previous year, but declined sequentially. The company said it experienced a challenging environment with a high degree of uncertainty, low levels of client activity across businesses and extreme market volatility during the quarter. Credit Suisse plans additional cost savings, involving headcount reductions of approximately 3%.

Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI) is falling 9 percent to $52.60 as its third quarter adjusted earnings per share were below Wall Street view. The company's profit and revenue improved from the previous year.

Exelixis, Inc. (EXEL) is down 36 percent to $4.98 based on the news that it did not reach a timely agreement under a special protocol assessment with the FDA on the proposed design and analysis of the Cabozantinib '306 trial. The company expects to initiate the '306 trial by the end of 2011 and is no longer pursuing a SPA.

Amedisys Inc. (AMED) is falling 16 percent to $11.00 as it slipped to a loss in its third quarter. Adjusted earnings per share were below analysts' estimate. The company also lowered its earnings per share guidance for 2011.

Dunkin' Brands Group Inc. (DNKN) is falling 3 percent to $28.25. The company's third quarter adjusted profit increased from the last year. The company also announced that certain of its stockholders intend to offer for sale of 22 million shares of its common stock in a secondary offering.

Sify Technologies (SIFY) is down 12 percent to $5.55.

Trading halt:

Trading in shares of interCLICK, Inc. (ICLK) was halted.

Trading in INX Inc. (INXI) was halted. Presidio Inc. entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all of company's outstanding common stock. INX shareholders will receive $8.75 per share. INX's board has approved the merger agreement and is recommending that INX shareholders adopt the agreement.
