Apparel retailer Liz Claiborne Inc. (LIZ) Thursday announced the appointment of Elizabeth Reeves as senior vice president and chief human resources officer effective August 4, 2008, following retirement of Larry McClure. McClure would retire by the end of the year.
Reeves, most recently, was the senior vice president of human resources at Lincoln Financial Group in Philadelphia. She began her career with JB Ivey and Company or Dillard's department store followed by a 19-year stint at GE company.
Commenting on the appointment, McComb Chief Executive Officer, Liz Claiborne said, "Beth's experience in the chief human resources officer role is important as we continue to restructure the company and execute our strategic plan. The Human Resources function has played a key role in the turnaround of Liz Claiborne Inc. to date, and will play an even more important role in the next phase."
LIZ is currently trading at $15.08, down $0.60 or 3.83%, on a volume of 0.20 million shares.
