Tuesday, Albany Molecular Research Inc. (AMRI) said it appointed Gergely Makara as director of chemistry for European operation. Makara will be responsible for all European chemistry products and services including custom synthesis, medicinal chemistry, analytical services, library design and production.
Makara, with over 10 years of industrial experience focused on the development of compound libraries and lead optimization at leading drug discovery companies in the U.S. was most recently head of Merck's Target Validation Chemistry group.
The company said addition of Makara fulfills another critical step in its plan to strengthen and expand its leadership team and operations in Europe.
