Indonesian consumer confidence continued to deteriorate for the sixth month in May as the corresponding indicator fell to 82.4 from 86.8 in April, the Bank Indonesia said Tuesday.
An indicator reading below 100 indicates pessimists outnumber optimists.
The current economic situation index stood at 78.8, down from 79.5 in the previous month. Meanwhile, the consumer expectation index, which measures consumers' confidence in the economy over the coming six months plunged to 94.1 from 86 in the month before.
