(RTTNews) - Diversified media and entertainment company Walt Disney Co.'s (DIS:
News ) Studios Motion Pictures Group president Mark Zoradi resigned on Monday after 29 years of service with the company, media reports said. He was appointed as president in July 2006. The reason for his leaving the company is unknown.
Zoradi was recently overseeing all aspects of worldwide marketing and distribution for motion pictures released under the Walt Disney Pictures, including Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Animation, Touchstone Pictures, and Hollywood Pictures banners.

In 1992, Zoradi was chosen to set up a standalone international theatrical marketing and distribution organization, which became the Walt Disney Studios International.
The departure of Zoradi follows the ousting of his former boss, Disney Studios chairman Richard Cook and Miramax Films President Daniel Battsek, reports said.
In the first week of October, Walt Disney had appointed Rich Ross, president of Disney Channels Worldwide, as chairman of Walt Disney Studios, replacing Richard Cook, who resigned from the company after 38 years of service.
DIS closed Monday's regular trading at $29, up $0.44 or 1.54%, on a volume of 12.64 million shares.
