On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.74 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue for the quarter was $12.38 billion, down from $12.70 billion in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to report revenue of $12.22 billion for the quarter.
