New Zealand Job Ads Rise In January - Seek

Online job site Seek on Tuesday reported a seasonally adjusted 10.9% increase in the number of new job advertisements placed in the website in January across all of New Zealand.

Job ads from Auckland jumped 15.9%, while those from Wellington and Christchurch were up a more modest 1.1% and 0.4%, respectively.

Seek said that since July 2009, new job ads were up 31.4% in New Zealand compared to 26.2% in Australia, although New Zealand was coming from a much lower base.

There are currently over 11,300 jobs advertised on Seek.
