Greece's unemployment rate eased to 11.6% in June from 12% in May, the Hellenic Statistical Authority said Friday. A year ago, the rate was 8.6%.
The number of unemployed totaled 582,364 for the month, up 154,657 persons or 36.2% from the same month last year. However, the figure declined by 19,821 persons or 3.3% from May.
The number of employed amounted to 4,429,823 persons in June. The figure declined by 142,493 persons or 3.1% from last year. From May, it fell by 1,503 persons or 0.03%.
