MedAssets turns to profit in Q3; Guides FY09 - Quick facts

MedAssets Inc. (MDAS) reported third quarter net income attributable to common stockholders of $3.7 million or $0.07 per share, compared to a net loss of $4.6 million or a loss of $0.40 per share, in the third quarter of 2007.

Adjusted earnings per share for the third quarter was $0.15, excluding non-cash acquisition-related intangible amortization on a tax-adjusted basis.

Total net revenue for the third quarter increased 54.2% to $76.0 million, from $49.3 million in the third quarter of 2007.

Analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expected the company to report earnings of $0.13 per share on revenues of $73.13 million for the quarter.

For fiscal 2008, total net revenue is still expected to be in the range of $272 million - $276 million, and adjusted EPS to be $0.51 - $0.55.

Analysts expect the company to report earnings of $0.52 per share on revenues of $273.67 million for fiscal 2008.

For fiscal 2009, the company expects total net revenue to be between $346 million and $354 million, and adjusted EPS $0.54 - $0.62

Analysts expect the company to report earnings of $0.70 per share on revenues of $348.77 million for fiscal 2009.
