A car-bomb explosion at a checkpoint west of Baghdad killed nine police officers and wounded 31 others Monday.
The attack came within four days of a suicide-bomb explosion in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, killing 55.
The suicide-bomber rammed an explosive-laden car into the police outpost in the Khan Dhari area on the western outskirts of the Iraqi capital.
In another incident, seven members, included three women, of the minority Yazidi community were murdered in northern Iraq Sunday night.
