Arrow Electronics, Inc. (ARW) said it appointed Michael Long as chief executive officer.
Long succeeds William Mitchell, who has served as chief executive officer since March 2003. Mitchell will serve as executive chairman through Dec. 31, 2009.
The company noted that Long has served as its president and chief operating officer, and director since March 2008.
Currently, Long serves on the board of AmerisourceBergen Corp. (ABC) and is a member of the board of trustees of the Denver Zoo.
