More New Zealand Employees Plan To Shift Jobs: Survey

An increasing number of employees in New Zealand are planning to shift jobs as the economy shows signs of recovery, media reports said Tuesday citing a survey by specialist recruiting firm Hays.
About 52% of respondents said they knew "quite a few" employees who wanted to shift jobs, while 35% said most people would like to stay in their current jobs.
Managing director of Hays Jason Walker said employees looking to change jobs rose significantly, with some job seekers just keeping an eye out for opportunities, and others looking to advance in their careers.
"Many of these candidates feel overworked and undervalued," Walker said. "They held off exploring other opportunities until signs of economic stabilization were clear. They are now looking for roles offering them real career growth."
The arrival of job seekers on the market will provide employers better opportunities to hire good people who are already employed, Walker added.
