Taiwan Consumer Prices Fall Further In October

Taiwan's consumer prices dropped 1.84% year-over-year in October, faster than a 0.86% fall in the previous month, the statistical office said Thursday. Economists expected a 1.05% drop.
Month-on-month, consumer prices rose 0.44%. In the first ten months of the year, the consumer prices slipped 0.85% from the corresponding period last year.
Meanwhile, the wholesale prices dropped 0.62% in October from September, and was down 6.23% from the previous year.
Export prices fell 0.92% month-on-month and slipped 6.85% year-on-year. Import prices declined 0.26% from September and fell 4.04% from the previous year.
