(RTTNews) -  Monday, the Statistics Estonia announced that the trade deficit stood at EEK 0.8 billion in September, nearly four times smaller than that seen in the previous year. In August, the trade deficit was EEK 1.6 billion.

Exports dropped 24% year-on-year to EEK 9.3 billion in September, after a 31% fall in August. Imports slipped EEK 5.1 billion to EEK 10.1 billion, this was the first time imports exceeded the level of EEK 10 billion.

On a monthly basis, exports and imports increased by 20% and 8% respectively in September.
