(RTTNews) -  Thursday, Computer Programs and Systems Inc. (CPSI: News ) reported second-quarter net income of $3.5 million or $0.32 per share, compared to $3.0 million or $0.28 per share in the same quarter last year.

On average, 11 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.38 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues for the quarter increased 11.2% to $30.8 million from $27.8 million in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to report revenue of $31.08 million for the quarter.
The company declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.36 per share, payable on August 21, 2009, to stockholders of record as of the close of business on August 6, 2009.
