(RTTNews) -  ICU Medical Inc. (ICUI: News ) posted third quarter net income of $6.3 million or $0.42 per share, compared to $7.6 million or $0.52 per share in the same period last year.

On average, five analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.32 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Third quarter 2009 revenue was $54.0 million, compared to $54.7 million in last year period. Four Wall Street analysts expected revenues of $50.39 million.
Looking forward, for the full year 2009, the company increased its earnings per share to a range of $1.74 - $1.79, compared to its previously announced forecast in the range of $1.62 - $1.71 per share. Revenue is now forecast in the range of $223 million to $228 million, compared to its earlier projection in the range of $220 million to $230 million.

Street analysts expect earnings of $1.66 per share on revenue of $226.35 million.
