(RTTNews) -  Capital One Financial Corp. (COF: News ) announced that its third-quarter net income was $425.6 million, or $0.94 per common share, compared to $374.1 million, or $1.00 per common share in the year ago-quarter.

Total revenues for the quarter were $3.60 billion, compared to $3.50 billion in the prior year quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.14 per share on revenues of $4.11 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
