(RTTNews) -  Extreme Networks, Inc.'s (EXTR: News ) first-quarter net loss was $5.5 million or $0.06 per share, compared with a net income of $1.6 million or $0.01 per share in the first quarter a year earlier.

On a non-GAAP basis, net loss was $4.9 million or a loss of $0.05 per share, compared with a net income of $2.0 million or $0.02 per share in the year-ago quarter.

Three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated a loss of $0.02 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
For the first quarter of 2010, net revenue was $66.3 million, compared with $89.5 million in the fiscal first quarter of 2009. Analysts expected revenues of $66.07 million.
