(RTTNews) -  Alaska Air Group Inc. (ALK: News ) reported October operational results for its subsidiaries, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.

Alaska Airlines said its October traffic rose 3.0% to 1.50 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 1.42 billion RPMs in the same period last year. Alaska Airlines's October capacity was 1.89 billion available seat miles or ASMs, down 1.6% from 1.92 billion ASMs in the prior year period. Alaska Airlines reported an increase in load factor to 77.0% in October 2009, compared to 73.6% in October 2008.

Horizon's October traffic rose 3.2% to 203 million RPMs from 197 million RPMs in the same period last year. Capacity for the month was 277 million ASMs, compared to 277 million ASMs in the prior year.
Horizon reported an increase in load factor to 73.4% in October 2009, compared to 71.1% in October 2008.
