(RTTNews) -  Aqua America Inc. (WTR: News ) reported third quarter net income of $33.5 million or $0.25 per share, compared to $35.4 million or $0.26 per share in the prior year quarter.

Revenues for the quarter rose 2.1% to $180.8 million from $177.1 million in the previous year quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.25 per share for the quarter on revenue of $188.97 million.
The Board of Directors has declared 7.4% dividend increase of $0.01 per share to $0.145 per share from $0.135 effective for the December 1, 2009 quarterly dividend, to shareholders of record on November 16, 2009.
