(RTTNews) -  Smith Micro Software Inc. (SMSI: News ) reported third quarter GAAP net income of $2.0 million or $0.06 per diluted share, compared to a GAAP net loss of $1.6 million, or a $0.05 per share in the prior year quarter.

Non-GAAP net income for the quarter rose to $6.6 million, or $0.20 per share from $6.0 million, or $0.19 per share in the year-ago quarter.

On average, 8 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit of $0.19 per share for the quarter.
Revenues for the quarter were $27.8 million, up 4% from $26.6 million a year earlier. Analysts expected revenues of $29.37 million for the quarter.

Looking ahead, the company lowers full fiscal year 2009 revenues outlook to $105 million - 110 million from prior outlook of $110 million -115 million. Analysts predict the company to report revenue of $111.30 million for fiscal 2009.
