(RTTNews) -  Tech Data Corp (TECD: News ) reported third quarter net income attributable to shareholders of Tech Data of $43.14 million or $0.84 per share, compared to $16.8 million or $0.33 per share last year. The company noted that the prior year results were adjusted.

On average, 9 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.71 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales declined to $5.64 billion from $6.14 billion in the same quarter last year. Seven analysts estimated revenues of $5.33 billion.
Moving ahead, net sales for the fourth quarter ending January 31, 2010 are anticipated to increase in the low-to-mid single digit range year-over-year.

Analysts expect revenues of $5.65 billion.
